Make a Difference in Someone's Life This Holiday Season:
Donate to My Sister's Place
My Sister's Place needs your help to provide holiday sponsors for its residents and their children.
My Sister's Place is a Jefferson residential treatment program for pregnant and parenting women recovering from substance abuse; it is a division of Maternal Addictions Education and Research, under the Department of Pediatrics of Thomas Jefferson University.
Patients often arrive at the program with no possessions at all. The women need clothing, personal care items, shoes, phone cards, and just about anything else you can think of. The children need diapers, sippy cups, toiletries, warm coats and clothing, too, but also need that special book or toy that warms the heart at holiday time.
My Sister's Place accepts donations year-round, and can make arrangements to pick up if you cannot deliver or send your contribution. You may also choose to "adopt" an individual patient, a child or a whole family for the holidays. If your department would like to organize a group donation, adopting a family would be a great match!
Note: My Sister's Place regrets that it cannot accept food, used clothing or products that contain alcohol.
Please send general donations to:

To adopt an individual or a family, to arrange for pickup of donated items, or for more information about the program, please contact Karin C. Gladney, Residential Director, or Lucy Sheppard, Parent-Child Worker, at 215-727-1640. Donations of cash are also gratefully accepted.
