- Basically a "card
catalog" for genealogical sites on the Internet, CyndisList contains
links to thousands of sites categorized and cross-referenced by hundreds
of different categories including country of origin, religion, and race.

- Ancestry.com,
contains one of the largest collections of family history data online.
The site includes general information on performing genealogical research,
family name databases, and how to publish genealogical research online.

Genealogical Society

- The National
Genealogical Society is a service organization that leads and educates
the genealogical community while assisting members in tracing family
histories. Included in the Society's Library is a collection of records
from the American Medical Association covering physicians who died between
1906 and 1969. For a $15 fee, the Society will perform a search of these
records for a particular name. A search form is available online at:

- While mainly
touting a listing of graves of the famous, the list has expanded to
include less well-known individuals. The searchable database allows
searches by name, birth or death dates, location, or reason for fame.
- Cemetery
Records Online

- Currently contains
searchable information for over 1,700 cemeteries around the world, encompassing
over 279,000 burial records. Most of these seem to be within the United
States. The database allows you to search by surname or you can find
a list of cemeteries by geographic location. The site also contains
links to obituaries online, genealogy Web portals, directories, and
surname studies.
